The Careers Department proudly works with 750 high schools around Australia, connecting individual students with industry and career opportunities. At this event, we were pleased to welcome Professor Barney Glover AO, Commissioner for Jobs and Skills Australia, David Gonski AC, Chancellor of UNSW and Melinda Buckland, Global Head of Communities and Social Performance at Rio Tinto. After hearing from Commissioner Glover on the priorities for Jobs and Skills Australia, the expert panel discussed how we can build collaboration between industry and education that transforms career education to build capacity in the skills market for Australian industries. Daniel Hunter, CEO, Business NSW introduced the Commissioner and Samantha Devlin, Co-founder and CEO of The Careers Department wrapped up the formalities with a passionate outline of The Careers Department app and how it uses innovation to engage high school students in careers planning. |
