UNLOCKING SYDNEY'S 24-HOUR ECONOMY BREAKFAST

With The Hon. John Graham MLC, NSW Minister & Peter Achterstraat AM, NSW's Productivity and Equality Commissioner

         EVENT PARTNERS

Business Sydney, in conjunction with Clayton Utz, hosted the launch of the NSW Productivity and Equality Commission’s report into regulatory barriers holding back our 24-hour economy.

This was an important and highly successful event, bringing together government, industry, and community voices to chart the way forward for Sydney’s nightlife and cultural vibrancy.

We thank the Hon. John Graham MLC, Minister for Music and the Night-time Economy, for opening the discussion with his insights, and NSW Productivity and Equality Commissioner, Peter Achterstraat AM, for outlining the report’s important recommendations.

The Commissioner’s report provides a blueprint for how we can unlock productivity, boost jobs, and ensure Sydney’s nightlife continues to evolve into a safe, diverse, and globally competitive 24-hour economy.

Our expert panel made up the Mayor of Burwood, John Faker GAICD, the CEO of Destination NSW, Karen Jones, the CEO of the Night Time Industries Association, Mick Gibb, the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner, Michael Rodrigues and the Co Founder of the Avenue Group, Phil Barbaro, also shared valuable perspectives on what must come next to turn recommendations into reality and ensure Sydney remains a world-class city that never sleeps.

A special thanks to Dr Ashley Tsacalos and his colleagues at Clayton Utz for supporting the event.

The vote of thanks was moved by Business NSW's Board Member, Lyn Lewis-Smith OAM.
