Unlocking Australia's Housing Future Lunch
With Scott Langford, CEO, Housing Australia
EVENT PARTNER
Sydney continues to confront a critical housing shortage, and it was clear from our recent lunch – Unlocking Australia’s Housing Future that meaningful, solutions-driven dialogue is more important than ever.
With over 60 business leaders in attendance, the event was a tremendous success and reinforced the urgency of accelerating housing supply across our city and nation.
Hosted by Business Sydney in conjunction with Hall & Wilcox, the lunch brought together leaders from government, industry, and the property sector for a constructive and forward-focused discussion on one of Australia’s most pressing challenges.
We were honoured to hear from our keynote speaker, Scott Langford, Chief Executive Officer, Housing Australia, who provided valuable insights into the national policy framework shaping housing supply, as well as the ambitious construction targets being pursued across both state and federal levels.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our outstanding panellists:
🏠 Scott Langford, CEO, Housing Australia
🏠 Princess Ventura, Partner, Regional Director – NSW, Urbis
🏠 Michael Hogg, Co-Founder, Operations Director, apt. Residential
🏠 David Chandler AM, Principal, CE Advisory; Former NSW Building Commissioner
🏠 Jennifer Degotardi, Partner and NSW/Government Co-Lead, Hall & Wilcox – Facilitator and wonderful host
The discussion explored the opportunities, barriers, and practical solutions required to boost housing delivery, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, policy alignment, and innovative thinking to meet growing demand.
A special thank you to Christine Mikhael, Executive Officer of LJ Hooker, for delivering the vote of thanks and closing the event on a strong and thoughtful note.
Addressing Sydney’s housing challenge will require continued partnership across sectors, conversations like these are a critical step toward unlocking Australia’s housing future.
