Around 100 business leaders joined Business Sydney and National Institute of Dramatic Art Corporate Training for a highly engaging and interactive session on The Power of Pitching – a critical skill for every business professional and it was a huge success.
Whether you are winning a client, securing investment, gaining support for a new idea, influencing a decision-maker or positioning yourself for your next career opportunity, the ability to pitch effectively is one of the most valuable skills in business.
We were privileged to hear from Andrew Banks, entrepreneur, business leader and Shark Tank Australia investor, in a fascinating fireside conversation with Terri Martin, Head of NIDA Corporate.
Andrew shared the pitches that have shaped his remarkable career, the mistakes that can undermine even the strongest ideas, and why confidence, communication and presence can often matter as much as the pitch itself.
A real highlight was the live pitching demonstration led by Antony Grgas, Facilitator, NIDA Corporate Training, who took participants through practical exercises focused on posture, presence, voice and delivery.
We then saw those techniques put into practice when Annette Brodie, Founder & CEO of The Reconnect Project, took to the stage to deliver a 60-second pitch. Antony provided live coaching and feedback, while Andrew shared additional insights on how Annette could further strengthen both the content and impact of her pitch.

The morning reinforced an important lesson: a great idea is only as powerful as your ability to communicate it.
