At this morning tea & reception, guests heard a special address from the Hon. Steve Kamper MP, NSW Minister for Sport and met both of the NSW Waratahs Men’s and Women’s Captains Jake Gordon and Piper Duck.

At this reception, we celebrated an exciting future for rugby – for fans, players and the business community.

Sally Loane, Chair, Destination NSW, conducted a Q&A with the Minister and the panel with David Porecki, NSW Waratahs Player & Wallabies Captain, Piper Duck, NSW Waratahs, Women's Captain, Richard Harry, Group General Manager, Business Development, Goodman and James Patterson, CEO, Knight Frank Australia, showcased how the NSW Waratahs support their players, in providing off the field opportunities for life beyond their rugby careers, with their corporate work experience and employment programs.

Finally, Paul Doorn, CEO, NSW Rugby and Paul Nicolaou, Executive Director, Business Sydney, signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding, pledging business community support for the Waratahs’ post-playing career program for players. 

The aim of the collaboration is to highlight the success of the career program in which Waratahs players receive real world experiences with business partners.
