It was a privilege for Business Sydney to welcome more than 80 business leaders for an exclusive reception, held in conjunction with the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI) and proudly supported by Australian Made.
A sincere thank you to Senator the Hon.Tim Ayres, Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science, for delivering an insightful keynote address outlining the Federal Government’s vision for advancing Australian industry, fostering innovation, strengthening sovereign manufacturing capability and building more resilient supply chains.
We also appreciated the valuable contributions from Ben Lazzaro, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Made Campaign, who highlighted the importance of backing Australian-made products and supporting local manufacturing, and Rob Williamson, Managing Director, Alpha HPA, who shared the inspiring story of one of Australia’s leading industrial success stories and demonstrated how innovation, advanced manufacturing and the National Reconstruction Fund are helping build the industries of tomorrow.
Thank you to Andrew McKellar, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), for welcoming for introducing the Minister, and to Heidi Cooper, Chief Executive Officer, Business Chamber Queensland and Australian Made Board Member, whose engaging fireside conversation with Senator Ayres provided further insight into the opportunities and challenges facing Australian industry.
A special thank you also to Lyall Gorman, President, Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), for delivering the vote of thanks and recognising the importance of collaboration between government and the business community.
These conversations matter. As Australia navigates a period of economic transformation, strengthening domestic industry, supporting innovation, encouraging investment and building sovereign capability will be critical to creating jobs, improving productivity and ensuring our nation remains globally competitive.
