POST BUDGET REVIEW 2026 EXCLUSIVE LUNCH

More than 120 business leaders came together for Business Sydney and Westpac’s 2026 Post-Budget Lunch with The Hon. Daniel Mookhey MLC, Treasurer of New South Wales. At a time of significant economic opportunity and ongoing challenges, it was invaluable for business, government and industry to hear firsthand about the priorities, investments and reforms shaping the future of our State.

A special thank you to Carolyn Hoy, Chief Operating Officer, Westpac Institutional Bank, for welcoming our guests and officially opening the event before introducing the Treasurer.

The Treasurer delivered a comprehensive address on the 2026 NSW State Budget, outlining the Government’s priorities, the economic challenges ahead and the broader implications for New South Wales. His insights provided valuable context for businesses as they plan for the future.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was an engaging and informative Q&A discussion featuring the Treasurer, Matthew Hassan, Executive Director, Economics, Westpac, and expertly facilitated by Ross Greenwood, Business Editor, Sky News Australia. The discussion explored the Budget’s impact on the State’s economy, the outlook for business and the opportunities that lie ahead.

It was also a pleasure to hear from Daniel Hunter, Chief Executive Officer, Business NSW, who reflected on Business NSW’s remarkable 200-year history and its enduring contribution to supporting businesses and advocating for a stronger New South Wales economy.
