NSW State Budget Lunch
With The Hon Daniel Mookhey MLC, Treasurer of NSW
EVENT PARTNER
Business Sydney in partnership with Westpac held a post-Budget lunch which brought together more than 100 of the state’s most prominent business leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders for a timely and thought-provoking discussion on the 2025–26 NSW Budget. Held in the heart of the city, the event was a resounding success—offering a valuable platform for connection, reflection, and strategic insight at a pivotal time for New South Wales.
The Hon. Daniel Mookhey MLC, Treasurer of NSW, delivered a keynote address that provided clarity on the Budget’s key priorities, including cost-of-living relief, housing, and long-term infrastructure planning. He spoke candidly about the economic challenges ahead and the government’s commitment to maintaining fiscal responsibility while continuing to invest in the future of the state. His address was both insightful and well-received, setting the tone for a robust and intelligent exchange of ideas.
Adding further depth to the program, Dr Luci Ellis, Chief Economist at Westpac, joined the Treasurer for a compelling discussion on the broader economic and social implications of the Budget. Together, they explored the intersection of government policy, business confidence, and economic resilience—giving attendees critical context to help navigate what lies ahead.
Business Sydney extends its sincere thanks to all guests, and in particular to Jeffrey Byrne and Westpac, for their continued support in fostering dialogue on the issues that shape our state’s future.
