NSW ECONOMIC REVIEW BREAKFAST

Sydney proudly hosted a highly successful and timely NSW Economic Review at the Shangri-La Sydney, bringing together over 300 of the state’s leading business & political figures. Faciltated by Business Sydney in partnership with Business NSW, this important event showcased the city’s pivotal role as a centre for collaboration and economic leadership in NSW.

The significance of the event lay not only in addressing critical economic challenges but also in fostering meaningful dialogue and cooperation between politicians, senior public servants, and business leaders. The rising costs of workers compensation dominated discussions — a pressing issue that unites all sectors. Premier Chris Minns and NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey highlighted the urgent need for reform, appealing for the business community’s support to drive crucial workers compensation legislation through State Parliament. Treasurer Mookhey referenced Business NSW’s Business Conditions Survey, underscoring how insurance premiums are increasingly impacting businesses across the state.

After the Premier’s and Treasurer’s respective presentations the CEO of Business NSW, Daniel Hunter, conducted an in-depth Q&A with both political leaders.
