With the Hon. David Harris MP, NSW Minister

   EVENT PARTNERS:

Sydney is counting down to one of the world’s great sporting events, with just one year to go until the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027.

Over 120 business, political, sporting and community leaders joined Business Sydney and Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 for a special lunch marking this important milestone, hosted by Deloitte in Sydney.

The Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 will be important for Sydney and great for our city bringing the world’s top 16 netball nations to Sydney from 25 August to 5 September 2027, showcasing our city to a global audience and delivering significant opportunities for our visitor economy, businesses, hotels, restaurants, transport and tourism sectors.

Major sporting events are about much more than sport. They bring people together, create economic activity and put Sydney on the world stage.

A terrific afternoon of discussion featured insights from:

  • The Hon David Harris MP, NSW State  Minister for Gaming & Racing
  • Liz Ellis AO, Chair and Director, Netball Australia
  • Karen Jones, Chief Executive Officer, Destination NSW
  • Amanda Laing, Managing Director, Nine
  • Stacey Francis-Bayman, Former England Roses and Super Netball player and World Netball Director
  • Catherine Cox AM, Former Australian Diamonds player and broadcaster

Thank you to Sandra Sweeney, Sports Lead Partner at Deloitte, for welcoming us to Deloitte and to Mark Coyne, Executive Director, EML, for delivering the vote of thanks.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate one year to go and to look ahead to what promises to be an unforgettable Netball World Cup Sydney 2027. It’s going to be great for Sydney, great for NSW and great for netball.
