INSPIRING EXCELLENCE: EXCLUSIVE RECEPTION WITH JESSICA AND NOEMIE FOX
Olympic Gold Medallists in Canoe and Kayak
EVENT PARTNERS:
At this exclusive reception, Business Sydney guests met and heard from the Fox family, including Olympic Gold Medallists, Jessica and Noemie Fox, their coach and mother, Myriam and their father and commentator, Richard. Australian Sports Journalist and Reporter, Jim Wilson, facilitated the Q&A. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, world champion slalom canoeist, Jess Fox, brought her Olympic medal collection to six, winning gold in both the K1 and C1 events. First-time Olympian, Noemie Fox, then went on to win gold in the Kayak Cross event. Topping off a remarkable year, Jess and Noemie shared the prestigious Sport Australia Hall of Fame’s Don Award in November last year. Following the Fox family, there was a panel discussion on the upcoming 2025 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships to be held at Penrith in October and the Brisbane Olympics, and the potential for major sporting events to enhance the visitor economy across Sydney, bringing together sports enthusiasts and tourists alike and driving economic growth. The panellists were Acting Chief Executive Officer for Destination NSW, Karen Jones, Executive Member for Australian Olympic Committee, Mark Arbib, and Chief Executive Officer of Paddle Australia, Kim Crane. Thank you to Michael Greene, Deputy Chief Executive Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright, for hosting the event and to Dr Marjorie O'Neill MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and State Member for Coogee, for moving the vote of thanks. |
