ESSENTIAL WORKER HOUSING REPORT BREAKFAST

With Alex Greenwich MP, State Member for Sydney and
Chair, Legislative Assembly Select Committee on Essential Worker Housing

     EVENT PARTNER

Essential workers are the backbone of our great city—keeping Sydney moving, safe, and thriving.

Business Sydney and Urbis were proud to co-host the launch of the NSW Legislative Assembly’s report “Options for Essential Worker Housing in NSW”, chaired by Alex Greenwich MP.

This important event brought together more than 100 key stakeholders from across government, business, planning and community sectors—highlighting the urgency and shared commitment to tackling this complex challenge.

The report outlines 20 practical, evidence-based recommendations to address the growing gap where essential workers are too often priced out of the communities they serve. Business Sydney believes there’s a vital role for the private sector to help deliver solutions—including scaling up pattern design housing and unlocking redevelopment opportunities, such as along the Parramatta Road corridor.

This event was a tremendous success and a strong step forward in ensuring essential workers can live closer to where they work. Their contribution is too valuable to be left unsupported.

Thank you Princess Ventura, Regional Director, Urbis for facilitating such an important panel discussion with the Committee Chair Alex Greenwich, his fellow Parliamentary colleagues Sally Quinnell, Liza Butler and Stephen Bali at the event.
