CELEBRATE THE START OF THE SUMMER CRUISE SEASON

Business Sydney in conjunction with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) hosted an exclusive lunch celebrating the start of the summer cruise season and exploring the significant contribution of the cruising industry to Sydney and Australia. 

The lunch brought together business and industry leaders to hear from Bud Darr, Global President and CEO, CLIA, who shared his perspectives on the outlook for global cruise, the forces shaping the industry’s future, and the opportunities for Australia and Sydney to strengthen their position within this dynamic and growing sector. 

We were delighted to hear from Karen Jones, Chief Executive Officer, Destination NSW, who provided insights into Sydney’s tourism outlook and the opportunities ahead for the city as a leading global cruise destination. 

A highlight of the lunch was an engaging Q&A between Bud Darr and Karen Jones, exploring the growth of the cruise industry, its importance to Sydney and Australia, and the opportunities for continued growth and investment. 

Guests then heard from a panel of industry leaders, facilitated by Joel Katz, Managing Director, CLIA Australasia, examining the beneficiaries of the cruising industry.
