At just over half way through the Albanese Government’s first term, The Hon Patrick Gorman MP, Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister, Assistant Minister for the Public Service, and Federal Member for Perth, offered a wide-ranging overview of the policy initiatives that have featured to date and on the government’s focus is leading into the 2024-2025 Federal Budget and approaching next year's federal election.
Conducting the Q&A with Assistant Minister Gorman was Diane Tate, CEO, Australian Finance Industry Association. The conversation was stimulating and, following questions from the floor, Liz Hughes, CEO, National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), moved the vote of thanks.

Bio
Assistant Minister Patrick Gorman has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Social Science from Curtin University.
Prior to Parliament, Patrick was Principal Adviser to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
As State Secretary of WA Labor, Patrick lead the 2017 State Election campaign, electing Premier Mark McGowan in a record-breaking result.
Since Patrick’s election to Parliament in 2018, he has become a strong voice for Western Australia and a strong voice for Australia’s national interest.
In 2022, Patrick was sworn in as the Assistant Minister to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and in 2023 as Assistant Minister for the Public Service.
Patrick and his wife Jess are raising their children Leo and Ruby in North Perth.
