2025 Christmas Drinks

With the Hon. Daniel Mookhey MLC, NSW Treasurer

EVENT PARTNER:

Business Sydney hosted its annual year end 2025 Christmas Drinks Reception at Clayton Utz in December. This reception was held in the wake of the terrible terrorism attack at Bondi Beach.

Following the attack at Bondi Beach and the shocking loss of life, our gathering carried a more sombre tone. It was an opportunity for the business community to pause, reflect, and stand together in solidarity, particularly in support of Sydney’s Jewish community.

Business Sydney's Executive Director, Paul Nicolaou, opened the reception with an address on behalf of Sydney's business community, expressing its deep sorrow and solidarity with the Jewish community (video link here).

Business NSW's President, Joseph Carrozzi AM, then officially welcomed our guests with his thoughts and insights followed by Dr Ashley Tsacalos' introduction of the Treasurer.

The Treasurer, Daniel Mookhey, expressed the NSW State Government's condolences and thoughts and reminded the audience of the importance of  unity, compassion and resilience.

The vote of thanks was moved by Penny Graham, Chair of ALTRAC.

Cindy Carpenter, Chair of Australia’s first social enterprise bakery, The Bread and Butter Project, presented the Treasurer with a Christmas cake direct from its bakery.

Business Sydney would like to sincerely thank Dr Ashley Tsacalos, Partner, Clayton Utz and the Clayton Utz team for hosting this event.
