Insurance has become an ever-present concern for Business NSW and Business Sydney members, regularly topping the list of members’ cost concerns in our Business Conditions Survey over the past 3 years. Increasing cost and decreasing access to insurance is impacting the competitiveness and viability of Australian businesses, especially smaller businesses.

Business NSW and Business Sydney want to work with the financial services sector to address these concerns and ease the stress on businesses.

At this lunch, guests heard from the Hon. Stephen Jones MP, Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, and our panel speakers Lori Modde, Chair, NSW Tourism Industry Council (TIC), Andrew Hall, CEO, Insurance Council of Australia and Facilitator David Harding, Executive Director, Business NSW, on this important topic. The vote of thanks was moved by Melina Morrison, CEO, Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM).

Business NSW also launched the report Insurance at the Speed of Business, that elevates the voices of our membership and proposes solutions to this important business issue.
