At this exclusive cocktail reception, Business Sydney's guests celebrated the fantastic results of the Matildas and the positive impacts of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 along with NSW Minister for Sport, the Hon Steve Kamper MP, Football Australia CEO, James Johnson,  past and present CommBank Matildas and other dignitaries.

The FIFA Womens World Cup 2023 brought together people from around the world and put Sydney on a global stage. James Johnson and Minister Kamper spoke about the amazing record-breaking results and the enormous economic and social benefits this major sporting event brought to Sydney and the nation.

Guests also heard insights from CommBank Matildas, Chloe Logarzo and Emily Gielnik, interviewed by Football Australia's own former Matilda, Sarah Walsh. 

Minister Kamper was introduced by Corinne O’Sullivan, Senior Associate, Corrs Chambers Westgarth. Also speaking and presenting Business NSW branded footballs were Dan Hunter, CEO Business NSW and Lyall Gorman, President, Business NSW.

Minister for Small Business, Minister for Lands and Property, Minister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Sport

Steve Kamper entered the NSW Parliament in 2015 as the Member for Rockdale. Following Labor's 2023 election victory, Steve was appointed Minister for Small Business, Minister for Lands and Property, Minister for Multiculturalism and Minister for Sport

Steve lives in the St George area and went to Sans Souci Public and James Cook Boys High. Prior to entering Parliament, Steve ran a successful accounting firm in Rockdale for 30 years, trusted by many local families and small businesses. Steve and his wife Magda have raised a family of five.

Steve is a former President of Sydney Olympic Football Club.

As Shadow Minister for Small Business and a former small businessperson himself, Steve saw firsthand the impact Covid and natural disasters have had on small businesses. At the height of Covid, Steve put politics to one side and worked closely with the then Government to make sure small business voices were heard and businesses received the support they needed.
