Having reached the milestone of their first 100 days in office, Premier Minns and his colleagues are on course for the next landmark, the Government’s first State Budget following Labor’s election win in March this year after 12 years in opposition.
At this breakfast event, proudly sponsored by Downer Group, Premier Minns spoke about the priorities and strategies that will underpin the Minns Government's first State Budget and his policy priorities during his Government's first term.
The official welcome was given by Business NSW President, Lyall Gorman and the Premier was introduced by Peter Tompkins, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Downer Group. After the Premier's keynote address, he sat down to a Q&A with Dan Hunter, CEO, Business NSW facilitated by Sally Loane, Chair, Destination NSW. Judith Field, Board Member for Business NSW moved the vote of thanks.
There were close to 400 people in attendance at this breakfast at Doltone House Hyde Park, a major event in Business Sydney's program.
Chris Minns is the 47th Premier of New South Wales and the Member for Kogarah.
Chris was born and raised in the St George area. He previously worked in politics, the charity sector and briefly as a retained firefighter while completing his studies.
Chris was elected as the Member for Kogarah in 2015 and became leader of the NSW Labor Party in June 2021, successfully leading the party to Government at the 2023 NSW Election.
Chris has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New England and a Master’s in Public Policy from Princeton University where he won a full scholarship to complete his studies.
He is married to Anna, a businesswoman and lawyer and together they have three sons, Joe, Nick, and George.
