As society grapples with the cost of living and the ongoing impact of natural disasters, businesses, large and small, are facing the challenge of maintaining mental wellbeing in the workplace.
Lifeline is at the frontline when it comes to dealing with the pressures that so many people are facing. But, in the current environment, it is increasingly business owners and employees who are reaching out for help.
And, from August 1, small business employees will be entitled to domestic violence leave. Creating an environment where employees feel safe and supported to access this leave is fundamental to maintaining a mentally healthy workplace.
At this special lunch, we heard from The Hon Rose Jackson, Minister for Mental Health, Housing, Homelessness, Youth, Water and the North Coast, and The Hon Steve Kamper, Minister for Small Business, Minister for Lands and Property, Minister for Multiculturalism and Minister for Sport.
The presence of both Ministers is testament to the importance each of them places on promoting positive mental health in the workplace and assisting those in need.
