Appointed to the role in late 2021 by NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet, heading the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet is the sixth agency Michael Coutts-Trotter has led in his long career in public service, including former Secretary for the NSW Department of Education and the Department of Communities and Justice.
The DPC are accountable for the leadership of more than 400,000 people in the NSW Public Service who all have a focus on securing the best outcomes for the people of NSW.
At this lunch, Michael Coutts-Trotter briefed Business Sydney members and guests on the latest initiatives in the State Budget and his department's work with the State Government.
Michael Coutts-Trotter was first appointed to head a NSW Government department in 2004 and has since led six agencies.
He is now the Secretary of the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Before joining the public service, Michael was chief of staff to a NSW Treasurer for seven years.
Michael is a fellow of the Institute of Public Administration of Australia.
