Briefings from the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces, Rob Stokes, are always among the most anticipated and popular events on our program and once again the Minister provided valuable insights for guests at last week’s Sydney First Boardroom Lunch.
Minister Stokes addressed many of the topical and sometimes contentious issues in his portfolio, including build-to-rent to assist affordable housing, the option of vertical aged care facilities in CBD’s and town centres, precinct development, CBD activation, more creative mixed uses for office, residential and public spaces and facilitating active transport modes.
The lunch event was co-hosted by the newly appointed CEO of Business NSW, Daniel Hunter and Executive Director, Business NSW, David Borger.
COVID 19 fundamentally changed how our city works, from the use of buildings to transport modes and the prioritisation of projects and there is a great opportunity to capitalise on Sydney’s enviable position.
Special thanks to the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces, the Hon. Rob Stokes MP, for sharing the insights and ideas as to how we continue reforming and streamlining the State's planning framework to further drive and improve the design, development and delivery of public and private spaces and places.
Rob is the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces, where he is focussed on promoting development throughout NSW that improves people's lives into the future, as well as protecting, restoring and building our State’s public spaces and parklands.
Rob is an environmental lawyer and has read sustainable urban development at Oxford and completed a PhD in planning law under a Commonwealth Scholarship.
